Janie Mines is a trailblazer, business leader, and author. She was the first Black woman to graduate from the United States Naval Academy, later serving as a Supply Corps Officer aboard ships and at the Pentagon. Janie earned an MBA from MIT as a Sloan Fellow and built an accomplished private-sector career with leadership roles at Procter & Gamble, Frito-Lay, Hershey, and Bank of America.

She served in the Office of the Secretary of the Navy as a Senior Executive and is a Distinguished Graduate of the Naval Academy. Today, she is the Senior Vice President of Inclusion & Innovation at Academy Securities, serves on their advisory board, and is the founder of multiple organizations.
She is also the author of No Coincidences – Reflections of the First Black Female Graduate of the United States Naval Academy.
